I promised your son/daughter that I will contact you once I have received information relating to GCSE, BTEC and A level qualifications.
I attach the link for the press release from the Secretary of State for Education which provides an outline of how examination grades will be awarded in the absence of exams:
There is very little detail as yet about how this will be conducted but whatever process is developed please be ensured that we will support your son/daughter in the best way possible based upon the work they have completed over the past two years.
I will update you with further information once this has been made available to me.
I had hoped that I would be able to share this directly with students in our assembly at 1.00 pm today but, sadly, the information was not available at that time.
Both year groups are to be commended for the way they have managed this situation and the news that they will not sit exams. They are a credit to you and the School and we had high hopes for all of them in the forthcoming exams. I am very proud of the way they have conducted themselves this week and, indeed throughout their school career. We will, at some point in the future, celebrate their successes and their contribution to the School.
Once again, thank you for your patience, support and understanding.
