"The development of the whole person - nurturing young people to become compassionate, reflective, intellectually curious and committed to the service of others."
PSHE at The Campion School helps our students make sense of themselves, their relationships, and the wider world they are growing into. It prepares them for life beyond the classroom by giving them the knowledge, confidence and character to navigate an ever-changing society.
Young people face complex challenges every day; from managing friendships and wellbeing to understanding digital footprints, consent, finance, and future pathways. Our curriculum meets all statutory requirements, but more importantly, it reflects our school’s mission to develop the whole person. Rooted in Jesuit traditions, it supports the formation of character through virtues such as resilience, responsibility, integrity, compassion and service to others.
Across all Key Stages, students explore how their choices, relationships and aspirations shape their lives and the communities around them. They learn about physical and emotional health, staying safe online and offline, respecting difference, and developing the confidence to take their place in society as thoughtful, well-grounded young men.
PSHE invites students to build a wide range of personal and interpersonal skills:
Students develop self-awareness and emotional literacy;
Students learn to communicate clearly and respectfully;
Students gain strategies for making safe, informed and responsible decisions;
Students explore how to build healthy relationships and manage conflict;
Students learn practical life skills, including financial awareness and planning for the future;
Students strengthen their character by reflecting on virtues, personal growth and their role within the school community.
PSHE at The Campion School supports our aim to form young people who are not only academically capable, but grounded, compassionate and ready for the real world. It is an essential part of developing the whole person.
